Case Study | Reliable Communication Solution For CCPP KOMOTINI LNG Power Plant in Greece

2025-04-17

Real-World Challenges at a High-Noise LNG Facility

In today's working environments, effective communication is not just about convenience but a vital part of operational safety and efficiency. J&R recently delivered a customized industrial communication solution for the CCPP KOMOTINI Combined Cycle Power Plant in Greece, located within a liquefied petroleum gas (LNG) facility. Due to the constantly high noise levels generated by equipment, standard communication devices were unable to perform reliably on-site. The client required a system that would ensure clear, uninterrupted communication for both daily operations and emergency situations.

Custom Solution: Noise-Reducing Telephone Booth + Waterproof Telephone

After a thorough site assessment, J&R provided a tailored solution that combined a noise-reducing telephone booth with a rugged waterproof telephone installed inside. The booth is designed with professional-grade acoustic insulation materials, significantly reducing ambient noise to create a quieter environment for users. Inside, the industrial waterproof telephone, rated IP66, delivers crystal-clear audio even in loud environments, thanks to its high-sensitivity microphone and powerful speaker. It is built to withstand harsh weather, humidity, dust, and corrosive conditions commonly found in coastal LNG plants. The system supports emergency calls, routine communication, and optional broadcast features, making it a versatile tool for on-site use.

Seamless Delivery and Positive Client Feedback

Throughout the project, our engineering team worked closely with the client, from initial drawings and customized production to remote support, installation, and final system testing. The deployment went smoothly, and the system is now fully operational. According to on-site feedback, the new solution significantly improved communication efficiency and reliability. Workers can now quickly and clearly connect with the control center, even in noisy areas, which enhances both safety and productivity.
